A good neighbor dropped off some awesome wooden boxes and such for projects.  Thanks to Bob for keeping his eyes peeled for the things he knows I cannot resist.   The little flock of ducks should be fun to work with...

Marilyn Immortalized in Furniture! "The Golden Girl"

Image
Art Deco Waterfall Armoire .  A bit beat up when I found it at a thrift store in Buffalo while visiting my sister.  As soon as I saw her I knew I'd found the piece for all those Marilyn Monroe Posters I'd been saving.... Some lovely golden tones and many hours of cutting and pasting the la rge number of photos of this screen goddess  found in many places on the net and in books.  Sometimes being a ho arder can pay off.  You just need patience and a seed of a plan for your collections of bits of fluff.  See, I'm not soooo crazed.  Well, maybe a wee bit!! Those little strips are her quotes of which there were many. S ome very thoughtful and profound, others playful sexy and sad. Luckily most of the original hardware was intact, but I did have to get c reative and switch knobs and handles which ended up working well with the design so as not to cover M arilyn up. She looks bejeweled in just the right places.

Funktiqued Table Makeover

Image
Before:  Lovely bones... scratched and dented antique table... Had oodles of potential.  He sat lonely in my barn for a year while I contemplated his transformation.  Then inspiration came, a garden in springtime has been stamped all over this body. Oh happy transformation from a catapillar to a lovely butterfly. Still needs his lions head hardware to finish the look off.  I'll add that pic later.. The paint was a three part process. I think it turned out rather well.
